| ノート | This is my wearable muslin for my first trousers and first short. Fit was good thanks to lekala: perfect except waistband for some reason it was almost 4 cm bigger that the trousers, I am not sure what went wrong there. I will make a second version to get the good corrected pattern for the waistband. The original waistband is straight but I made it curved because of my shape it fits better. I have omitted the pocket zipper, and added decorative piping on the pocket instead. I had not enough blue so I have used cream color fabric for pocket lining and waistband inside. Instructions are vague as usual but I found a great tutorial for fly zipper youtube: The Last Stitch, she explains it so well. I have to practice pant construction and further adjust the pattern but for a first pattern I think that the pattern fit is really good, it was a nice surprise from Lekala. As everybody says that fitting pants is a nightmare I had a pleasant surprise. I recommend this pattern. Note, to me the waist of this pants is sitting somewhere below my natural waist but it is definitely not low waist. |
