Notes Made this dress in cotton/lycra poplin from Italy. As usual, the Lekala pattern fit me perfectly right off the printer! I'm happy-ish with the project, most faults I find with it are my own design choices. I chose the fabric to coordinate with the wedding colors of navy and rose gold, and they are a little bolder than I would normally choose. (OK, a LOT bolder!) I think the revere collar gets lost in the large print, and if I were to do it again in the same fabric, I would add a line of navy piping along the front edges. The only tricky bit of construction was understitching the facings - it needed to change sides at the waistline and at the shoulder seams to remain invisible from the front.

My only criticism of the pattern design is that the armholes are a bit low for my flabby old lady underarms/side bust. I'd raise them 1/4-1/2 inch on the front edges.

I have half completed this style, abandoned it several months ago. You have inspired me to find it and finish it!
