Notizen I really struggled with this dress, I couldn't make head nor tail of the instructions.
The finished dress didn't suit Zara so we decided to donate it.
I would make it again but use a firmer fabric.
I used cotton sweater knit and lined it with cotton interlock and trimmed it with linen

    What constructive feedback from Maria and Jane. I'm sure we can all relate to this situation. I have to admit it happened to me more than once. You are a better person. I never finish my Frogged Frocks... They land up in the bin or with the rags.

    To be fair, I made the mistakes and know I know what I did wrong.
    I stitched the bra cups fully to the front, they should swtopabout 3/4's along but there are no notches.
    There were no straps or directions to cut them, so I used bias strips of linen.
    The rushed sides should not include the bodice and I did.
    I used a very long invisible zipper as Zara has a tiny waist but full derriere, however, when she rushed the sides tightly, which is the effect she wanted, it 'booped' out.
    If she had worn the dress at the proper length it would have been fine!
    That is why we donated rather then tossed, I think someone could make it work!
    I made another Lekala dress on the weekend, while Zara was home, and I used the line drawing as a guide and added notches and directions to my pattern pieces and we are so happy!

    Nicole you make so many lovely things and expertly use lots of complex techniques, so if this went wrong that is a shame. I have several unfinished failures, but have not been brave enough to share them, so I appreciate that your sharing this one is for the benefit of all of us - thank you!

    I give you lots of credit for sharing a project that you were less than happy with. We all have failures with projects from time to time but those failures are great learning opportunities. Lekala's instructions are not always the best and I would never recommend their patterns for inexperienced sewists. Better luck with your next project.
