Notes A lovely shift dress. Made out of medium stretch denim from my stash. I had bought the buttons from a second hand shop in New Zealand for just $2 NZD. I feel they make the dress. Top stitching is a nice touch. I flat felled the seams. The curved ones by just folding in the seam allowance and double top stitching it down. It would be very hard to stitch this with right sides together. I attached the bodice to the skirt the same way. The bodice is fully lined, I used two not-perfect fronts for the lining and cut two backs. The button holes need a lot of improvement, the needle broke half way in one and I had to unpick two. Finally got a top stitching needle and that worked much better. I have a big stash of denim so will make a jacket to match. Have no more buttons so the jacket will need a zip or no closure.
