| Notes | I used this pattern to make a shirt/jacket for my African groom client. it was unlined for a summer wedding. The proper cotton print African wax print was perfect for this shirt, but I must say the pattern was so precise - my client couldnt be any happier; because he can use it for many other Afrocentric functions and events - it was very original! He received mant compliments from the guests. I plan to order another size for a summer Philippine Barong for my husband, where I will be using a hand embroidered 12 mm silk organza. I used pattern 5559 for the bride but adjusted the bottom half to be a full high/low circle skirt. It’s customary for African weddings to have a church ceremony and a traditional African ceremony. I am always pleased that lekala saves me time drafting patterns. |
