| Notes | The directions were a little confusing, but good enough to get a finished dress. The main fabric is a 100% Flax Linen. I used cotton sateen for the lining and a lace fabric for the contrast. I sewed the darts in the upper front before sewing it together so all the extra fabric from the darts would be incased on the inside and not against the skin. I did not use the plackets around the bottom. My daughter-in-law wanted it to come just above her knees and leaving the plackets off made the dress the perfect length. The collar was also a bit confusing and I am still not entirely sure I did it correctly but it looks good, so I am happy. I cut all the pieces one night and sewed the whole dress in about 3 hours the next day. It was a quick sew and we are very happy with the finished garment. Oh, I also added pockets in the seams just below the hips. They were an easy addition and pockets are always a bonus. |
