Notes I downloaded this pattern before instructions were available. I could have done with them I think as I do not think I constructed it the way it was meant.
The fabric is also probably not suitable to the pattern as it as no give in it whatsoever, wrinkles quite easily and is really not photogenic. :-)
The fit of the skirt is great. But be aware that what looks like a pleat in the illustration is a slit. I like the shaped waistband. The front panel is cute but in the fabric I chose (OK lets call it a toile) sewing it in need to be a must more precision exercise than my skill level. A woollen fabric would be better suited to this style.

    Hi Maria,

I like the chambray blue colour as well. I bought a bolt of it many years ago so it is my sort of practice material with the hopes that one day I'll make a garment that works in it. However I suspect it would be most suitable for making sustainable grocery bags. Which is an honourable fate for fabric anyway. :-)

You may be right about a lining. I did another straight skirt and was surprised how much better it looked and felt once I had put the lining in. Draped better and looked much smoother over the body lumps and VPL.

I love the colour of this!

Good fabric tips, thank you. I suspect this may also work better with a lining?
