Notes I wanted a loose dress that would still cover my shoulders and upper arms, so that I can work comfortably in the garden in summer without getting sunburnt.

I omitted the back zip because my head fits through the neck opening when it is sewn shut, and the rest of the garment is so loose that a zip is unnecessary, but otherwise I started by sewing everything together without alterations.

This dress is loose. BOY is it loose. It is like a tent from the armpits down. The line art is very misleading for this one because there is no shaping whatsoever below the bust on this dress, and certainly no indication of where the wearer's waist might be.

I have no photo because I had to make so many extensive alterations that it does not represent the original pattern properly. I added fisheye darts in front and in the back, brought in the side seam by a full half inch on each side, and brought in the back seam by half an inch around the waist (effectively another fisheye dart in centre back). And the dress is *still* very loose and airy from the bust down.

The neckline is also higher than it appears in the illustration. The top edge of the neck yoke covers my collarbone. This is good as I won't get burnt on my chest now, but isn't what I expected.

If you are apple shaped or pregnant this dress would be a great choice for disguising the lack of waist. I'm neither, and I won't be using this pattern again.
