Notes | I made this coat to improve my visibility when walking and cycling at night. The style lines are perfect for adding reflective piping, so that's what I did! There were some construction errors, I think, when I made the collar, so it doesn't look exactly the same as the pattern drawing, but I'm really pleased with this coat and have had many compliments on it. We are coming into winter at the moment and the nights are cold and dark, so having a warm wool coat that looks good too is a real asset. The coat is made from purple melton wool, with reflective piping at almost all seams, a reflective strip on each pocket flap, and lined with silver-coloured lining fabric (probably polyester). |

it's very nice. I'd like to know how you're feeling now, 3 years on. Did you use tailoring techniques to shape the collar? It's a stand up collar so less likely but maybe. I'd love to see a rich cotton velvet on the portion facing you.
If you post a steamed and pressed photo, I'd be happy to see it. -

Hi, Nice coat. I ran into the same problem with the collar. It's too short. Also, I'm going to add reflectors to the sleeves and shoulders.
