Notes | The five seam skirt is a great look. I love skirts with panels, as they are pretty well universally flattering. I loved that this one had a back vent for walking ease. I didn't love the curve on the vent seam and will straighten it out in future iterations. This is a great basic skirt, appropriate for many occasions. I used an interesting wool multicolour check or kind of houndstooth pattern fabric. It was a little thick and needed a lining, as it was somewhat scratchy. The thickness was a particular issue in applying the waistband and finishing its ends. I prefer a curved waistband to a straight one, but this one works well. I chose to use a hook and bar rather than attempt a buttonhole. I added a lining in bemberg. |

Thank you, Shelagh! I think a tweedy check/houndstooth is a good choice for this skirt.
