Notes | This dress was massive and tent-like, much more so than the illustration or the technical drawing suggested. I had to add vertical darts to both back and front to take in the excess volume. The dress is still loose and unrestricting, pockets are very useful - a good "gardening outfit", as there is somewhere to keep tools, etc. Although the dress was very loose, the sleeves were rather tight, I would widen these if I make this one again. Dress made in Liberty Tana Lawn, Wiltshire Berry pattern. Added contrast trim in a lime green to neckband, sleeves and pockets; faced the hem with a deep band of the lime green on the inside. Even after being "narrowed" this dress is still loose enough to just slip on and off without using the zip, if I were to make this style again I would probably save some time by leaving out the zip. |

Thank you for your comments above. It is such a help when knowledgeable people tell you what is the best thing to do. The dress looks so lovely on you. I don't think my skills are up to adding darts etc, but I can take in a side seam! It looks really comfy and cool for an Australian summer. And it fits you so well. I am going to have a go at making it.
