Note: This blouse is a test.

This pattern has the same faults as Lekala 5567 Jacket with Basque. (This jacket I had already made nearly finished, when fitting it was by meters too large. So I did check all 5 patterns I bought, but only this blouse had the same problem.)

I took emailing with Lekala during 5 months before I did solve the problem myself. They sent me a ‘corrected pattern’ which was even as large as the first one. By lamenting again to them they claimed ‘it was a derived from a children's pattern and made “a bit larger” to give it some ease… Some ease my a**. But decide for yourself: the pattern was ordered for measurements buste 112 cm, waist 108 cm, full hip 114 cm. I started calculating which measurement I had to order to have it delivered in my measurements. The result: Buste 96cm, waist 90cm, full hips 98cm. Is a difference of buste 16cm, waist 18 cm, full hips 16 cm. To call this ‘giving some ease’ goes behind my whits!

This just to inform that if you order this pattern or the above ‘Lekala 5567 Jacket with Basque’ you have to calculate. Better to be forearmed than forewarned.

Lekala was prepared to send me a voucher so I could order both patterns again in the measurements I did calculate.

I made this blouse to go with a suit. As I intend to create this blouse as well in a white festive version, I did change some. Behold: the sleeves are far-and far too short! I needed to elongate the sleeves by a whopping 12cm!
I left the hidden closure for this next one, and chose to have a simple one, as I do like the buttons so much (it would have been a crime to hide them!). Therefor I made the front facing wider, following the neckline till the shoulders. As there was no back neckfacing - I created one, so the collar would have some sturdyness to lean upon. I skipped the tiny darts at the back. At the end I must have miscalculated some, as the blouse did fit, was very nice at the buste, but as I have a bloated belly, I decided to add some 4cm at the side seams, to hide it a bit, the sleeve-head was wide enough for such (without any folds then, but hey, that’s OK).
