| Notes | I wanted to make a Dirndl costume (vest, blouse and skirt) without looking too ‘Dirndl’ kind of like (so no flowery fabrics, nor embrodery- kind of stuff). The fabric of the vest and skirt I got free of charge from a friend of a friend. It is kind of a sturdy cotton. Elas half of the wide was cut off, so I was left wit a 20 meter long pannel of only 40 cm wide. Therefor I had to create more seams then given at the pattern. I made a wide fold at the back (hiding the extra seams). At the right side front closed with an extra 3 buttons + one more extra to fix the inside skirt all do have buttonholes). At the left side 3 buttons and buttonholes. The skirt is fully lined with blue lining. The hem is hand sewn. Am I happy with my ‘Dirndl’ -like skirt? Yes. I did use the exact pattern, only giving it a different kind of fabric. |
