| Notas | Last of the summer wine. Set 2. Made in a rather stiff seersucker. At first I intended to give the top (blouse) sleeves. Made them already, but once the top nearly finished I did skip these. As in that way I can wear a lace top with long sleeves underneath. This pattern is an adventure on it’s own, but this could be already guessed looking at the drawing… But I stand sturdy on my feet, am not so easily scared, plus: I did like it’s outlook. So I went for it… Not for the faint-harted, this one. As the ‘Made to measure’ totally did not end up as the drawings. These have a waist! And my ‘Made to measure’: I did look like an Oompa Loompa… So.. If Lekala does not give me a waist, I myself will do: I created one more dart at each side (one in the direction of the other darts, and one in opposite direction, as this gives the illusion of a smaller waist , as the hem also looks smaller in that way. It’s just an optical illusion, but hey, all for the good cause). Preferably do this whilst wearing the top, as only in that way these darts will follow your curve. And, yes, indeed, after that I suddenly had a waist. At the back I did skip the zipper, as the neck opening is wide enough without this. The darts I made a lot deeper in oder to create a waist. As my fabric was rather sturdy seersucker, I did hand sew it’s hem, as in that way the top fell more naturally. The trousers are: Mc Call’s M8223 (without inset, the hem all hand sewn). It’s my favorite pants, already made 9x. |
