| 笔记 | If you don’t have the wits of Einstein, if you don’t have the adventure of Columbus, if you don’t have the patience of a saint… Then stay away from this project. It is mindboggling, and a horror to figure out how the create the fold in the front neckline. The rest of the pattern is easy as easy should be. To make matters worse I had created this blouse in an extremely thin chiffon. Basting, basting, basting endlessly… But I refuse to give up (in this case a sin, not a virtue). When the blouse was finished, but the hem, I noticed I had used the back fabric reversed. And as the backside of the fabric is pale – and the frontside is bright, I had to unpick the backfacing - shoulders and sideseams in order to reverse this again. But hey, a seemstress wants to have it exact the way it ought to be… I made the pattern as it was, and did not change any, except the underlayer at the front. It should have been a seam, but however you wear it, when the top layer moves, the seam is always visible (and I hate such ‘disturbance’)… so I made this underlayer approx 10 cm wider, moving in the direction of the armscyes. To figure how to make the neckline took sooooooo much time! I even ended up by figuring how to do so with the pattern itself, the screenshot beside it. (If ever having problems with Lekala’s assessment: the answer is always laying in the screenshot). Therefor I made a pix of how the neckline should end up. I made use of a small band of the same fabric to hold the neckline together at the front. Am I happy with the blouse? Yes, it fits very nice, and its outlook is great. Will I ever make this pattern again? No way everrrrrrrr! |
