| 笔记 | Made in Crêpe Georgette. The drawing shows a dress with long flounces, appearing to be reaching the length of mid-calf. This was what I did order, it was not what was delivered. The dress had the length above my knee (which does not suit me at all) this I only started to notice when cut and assembled the item. Only later on I noticed at the pix that the dress indeed was above the knee. The flounces are very short (much - much shorter the given in the drawing. The fabric was a deadstock, and the only fabric coupon available. As I had already used the fabric for a jacket/blouse and another blouse, I had no option to cut the flounces again, as this would take more fabric I ran out of… As I did not want to give up, the dress already made, I bought black fabric of which I cut the flounces, as counterweight I made a bow of the same fabric. I intend to make the dress again, in the length as promised by the drawing. Am I happy in the end with my finished dress? Kind of… But I am very disappointed that I did not get what I ought to… There is no use crying over spilt milk… So, up to my next project. |
