ノート I made the skirt in ‘Pop Art Flower’ Jacquard. Nobody agreed or saw any promising in matching a set (coat, waistcoat and skirt) in this fabric. Nevermind, what do they know… I discovered the spark in the match, and that’s all that matters.

Must admit: in a plain type of fabric one would notice the model better, it get’s somehow lost amidst the print… But as part of my set, it looks great.
The skirt is fully lined, it’s length made shorter, due to the split at the back, and top-stitched.
It took me quite some time to sew in the zipper, as the fabric is not so forgiven to zippers. But after a lot of basting, I did manage. Made a leather cutout at the top of the back split, as I did not prefer to use interfacing, due to the unevenness of the fabric. Only the waistband had interfacing.

The instructions of the mid center front part were a bit of a ‘mumbo jumbo’. But never mind, I rarely read the instructions, and sail my own way.

At the pix the button at the waistband is missing, but I ordered special ones online (for the whole set) and as I also progress the other items, I decided not to waste any time.

Am I happy with my skirt? Yes. Must admit that I guess it would have had a different outlook if I would have used a no-print fabric, so the curves would have been visible. But as this skirt is part of an ensemble (MDF423 Bergen Coat, a free pattern by Mood) and the Lekala 4091 waistcoat) it will be fine. I will surely make this skirt again in a no-print fabric, so the shape and it’s ‘dynamic line’ will show it’s true colors.

La jupe est tres bien ,mais c'est vrai que les details des decoupes seraient plus mis en valeur avec un tissu uni
