| ノート | I gained some left over plaid fabric. Elas, very thick and stiff to work with. I made a skirt out of it, and a vest, using Terlenka fabric to add, as I came short with the main fabric. Made bound buttonholes, which was extremely difficult due to the thickness of the plaid. I LOVE-LOVE-Loooooove the buttons. I acquired the buttons before the fabric. I had to make the bound buttonholes higher than one ought to, but if I hadn’t, the the rabbit’s ears were sticking out, now these are placed in the middle of the buttonhole. The skirt has a different button, as these ‘rabbit’ buttons will not hold the waistband. As the inner part was too thick to fold it, I came up with the idea to create simple buttonholes (not nice to look at, but hey, all better than no buttonholes at all. As I was fixing these, I did not notice that my lining became stuck with the fabric. Took me a long tome to unpick, a fools errand, as it created a hole in my satin. Did not want to cut another part, as the vest was nearly finished, So I did close the hole, and did fix a pocket over it. Voila, my vest was saved. The vest is fully lined with ‘ashes of roses’-color satin.
