Notes I thought this pattern looks interesting. There are many projects on the site but only 1 with a photo of the finished project. I decided to try it with light grey polyester crepe fabric I have. My lessons:
1) This is not a fabric-efficient pattern! Those spirals take up so much fabric. It's really difficult to place the pattern pieces on the fabric efficiently. You end up with a lot of strange-shaped leftover pieces that are too small to do much with.
2) My fabric frays like crazy! It was very difficult to keep it together long enough to sew. Next time I'll overlock before assembly.
3) I was panicking about the fraying, I forgot to add a pocket before it's too late.
4) There's always going to be a seam at the CF. It feels weird to me. The illustration shows the skirt shifted 45deg from how I and Kookie Cottonreel (see the other project) was wearing it; that would put the zipper halfway between side and center-back, though, so I personally wouldn't want to do that.

I felt the skirt was a little long, so I made a facing and eased the skirt into it. (In effect, I raised the skirt by the amount of the waistband.)

Overall, I like it, but don't love it. It satisfied my curiosity about spiral gore skirts. Such a cool concept but I don't think I'll make it again because of the fabric waste.
