Note Pattern 4508 is an absolute joy. I wanted a dress that would protect my arms and the back of my neck from the hot sun when I walk along the beach, and this pattern delivers beautifully. I’m thrilled with how Lekala drafted it — the fit is perfect for me. Ready-to-wear shirt dresses rarely work for my proportions, but this one is the perfect length and width and so comfortable to wear. My finished dress is pink with palm trees and it makes me smile every time I put it on. After many years of sewing envelope patterns that never fitted me properly, it’s such a pleasure to sew a Lekala pattern that truly fits. Thank you, Lekala! The only alteration I did was reduce the buttons from 9 to 7 buttons (as that's all I had) and I left off the pockets, because I couldn't wait to try this pattern for fit. Next one I will try the pockets. It took me a little while to understand how to do the placket, because my reading comprehension is not good, so I did a little trial one on scrap fabric until I understood it, before sewing it to my main garment
sorry the bottom of the dress is being blown by the wind which makes it look distorted.
