| Notes | I wanted to upcycle my late father's short-sleeved shirts into something. I mixed it with 2 other shirts and a piece of scrap and used Model #2414 because it has many small pattern pieces and the sleeves makes the stains on the shirt less obvious. It worked great except I forgot to account for the fact that one of the shirt is woman's and opened in a different direction; I had to recut the center front bodice. Modifications: used actual button placket instead of the fake ones, omitted zipper, lengthen into dress. Reduced waist by 4cm. This is the first time using the projector file. The text was not readable! I had to order the preview to figure out which piece is which, and I think I still got the bottom side front/back mixed up! I'm debating adding an upcycled blouse as the bottom to make it a maxi. The dress is cute short like this but I won't wear short dresses very often (too cold). With the bottom tier, it might look a bit weird but I'll get much more use out of it. What do you think? Edited: 7 months later, I still have not worn the short dress at all, so I added the bottom tier to make it a maxi dress and have already worn it once. Now I'm regretting taking it in at the waist. It's comfortable and looks great when I'm standing, but strains a little bit when I'm sitting down. I should have trusted the algorithm! |
