| Notizen | Love it! The collar reminds me a bit of the collars which Karl Lagerfeld did wear. High and narrow cuffs… Completely my cup of tea. I got the fabric free of charge (kind of satin), but it was full of teares. But I would remedy that evil… Well, at least kind of… As I fel into 2 traps… I made a yoke at the back with a pleat. That completed I noticed a tear at the upper part of the fold. As the fabric is too thin to unpick, I created kind of an ornamental arrow, top stitched. I did elongate the blouse as well as the sleeves. Next disaster: the split in the sleeves… Guess my brains numb by then, as, once both splits finished, I came to the conclusion that I made one split in reverse. Did not intend to make another sleeve… So I cut off about 8 cm of the hem of both sleeves, slit in half, turned one inside out and sew the lot anew, did top stitch the seam. Which made it even better, as that seam did support the volume of the sleeve, and the seam is invisible, as the upper part hides the seam. Still I was not out of the woods yet, as, once the blouse was finished, I did notice a small tear at the front of the blouse, normally no way to hide it, but I was lucky it was placed at the right spot where I could make small darts. Lucky me, as it looks as if it is part of the model, but in fact it isn’t. I was wearing the blouse that same evening as finished to an evening out at an ‘all you can eat’ restaurant, where 2 children having fun at a chocolate fountain spilled their stuff over my blouse. But hey, nothing that cannot be helped with some soap and some soaking… I am very happy with the pattern, and I got positive reactions on internet, as well as people met. Truly advisable, this blouse, as it has a different outlook as most average blouses have. |
