Notes | Made in Classic Poly fabric. The lining is satin. A straight forward pattern. Not for novices, due to the welted pockets. Made mine to go with wide pants (Mc’ Calls 8223 Misses Pants, without the inset, a hem in total of 3,20m, with inset 5,20m, all handsewn). I did not alter the waistcoat except I did fully line it, made a pleat in the lining at the center back. The front is fully covered in fusible interfacing, to give it it’s sturdiness. What is wrong with the model: the bound pockets are far - and far too wide. Something I already could guess before I started sewing, but decided to make these like that anyway (just 2 cm smaller, as the edge is just 1 cm, thus too narrow to sew the inner pockets on. To overcome the hurdle of continuous opened pockets, I decided to create a buttonloop with button in it’s center. I also added an extra button with a loop at the left inner side, as I do not fancy eyes and hooks, and without the vest looses its sturdiness. The blouse is a free pattern by Lekala: Lekala 5446, Classical blouse. The wide pants: Mc’ Calls 8223 Misses Pants, without the inset. I nearly made all Lekala’s waistcoats, as I am very fond of such, and Lekala has nice patterns for such. Only two more to go to complete the Lekala waistcoat collection. |
