Notes I had seen this (https://www.davidjones.com/product/alexander-mcqueen-color-block-jacket-22790945) Alexander McQueen colour blocked blazer so many times on Pinterest, and I was up for a sewing project in my uni room. I don't have a sewing machine there so this was all sewn by hand.
I used the cotton velvet pillow cases from IKEA (it's the closest store nearby that sells relatively affordable fabric) called Sanela. I used 3 of the beige colour and 1 of the dark blue ones. I just about made it, I only had to piece together a little on the inside.
The lining is a raspberry coloured poly satin for the body and cotton for the sleeves from an old pillow case. I would definitely not do as I did for the sleeve lining; use a smoother fabric. I added "sleeve tags" on the inside, but it's not necessary with the cotton fabric. The sleeve seams pucker a little, I think that's due to the fabric and not necessarily my hand sewing, although that couldn't have been helpful to keep the seams under even tension. Food for thought.
I eliminated the pockets on the outside because it the welts were placed right below where I decided to place the dark blue velvet. I added a welted pocket to the inside instead.
I used 2 buttons, one as decoration, the other one is functional. I used silk thread (33 yds/vgs) to make the button holes by hand. They're not my best hand bound button holes, but they are one of the better ones, if only the little threads from the fabric below hadn't poked through. I'll add a little hook on the inside to keep the panel straight.

If I make this pattern again, I'd take in a little ease from the side, and add in a little bit more ease to the armhole and sleeve head. Lekala's patterns are always a little tight there, so nothing out of the ordinary. As a personal preference I'd like my sleeves a little more fitted around my wrists, so that's where I would also take in a little.
Overall a very nice pattern!
