Notes I used the pattern this time to make a simple casual camp shirt with decorative snaps (I've been loving snaps lately). The linen gives it a slightly rumpled look, and I'm quite happy with the result. It's my second go with this pattern. I still love my Secret Bicycle Shirt (the same pattern a few years ago), but this version is an overall improvement. I added about 1 inch of ease in total and placed some darts in the upper back for a better shape and to bring in the neck a little. I found the original pattern to be a bit looser in the neck than I wanted.

I used French seams as I usually do when practical and applied a cuff to the sleeve edges.
I'm not a fan of the pattern's approach to the welts. For my Secret Bicycle Shirt, I sewed the welts into the sleeve seams. This time I left them free so they look more like pocket flaps.

I may try this in flannel for the fall and add longer sleeves like I've seen others do.
As for the fabric, I had some spare time during a trip to Alexandria Virginia, and found it as a bolt end on a clearance table so it didn't set me back more than $5. WoooHooo!
