Notes I am happy about the result, but I did have to make some changes.
The sleeves were way way waaaaaay to large, so I had to take them in about 10cm. The length was ok.
I also attached the hood on the inside of the collar, instead of on the outside. Sure, the hood looks best (when down) when attached to the outside, but when you go and put the hood on your head, the collar comes up as well, which is a bit weird (see picture of my face). As this is a detachable hood, I believe it should be practical when you do put it on the jacket, so I think this is a necessary change. It does change the look of the jacket and also, the buttons are a bit visible on the inside of the collar (when the hood is detached), where they would otherwise be covered by the stand up collar.
I also used snap buttons everywhere, because I think those are way more practical.
I used a fabric that didn't want to be ironed (as it was lined with fleece), so I had to topstitch all of my seams, because they would not stay flat otherwise.
Lastly, I finished the inside with French seams, because the fleece lining was a part of the fabric and I like the neat look on the inside.

NIcely done! The changes you made make total sense from a practical standpoint; form should follow function. The many issues you had with this pattern is exactly why I would never recommend these patterns to novice sewists. The instructions are very brief and many assumptions are made.
