Notes Black stretch denim, snap fasteners.
The flower embroidery took a lot of time, but the straight hem of this style makes it a good shape for this (also suitable for a border print fabric). To get the embroidery continuous I embroidered across the full width of my fabric, before cutting out. Joined together the front/back skirt pattern pieces to eliminate the side seam at the hem, making a curved dart for the upper part of the side seam. This denim fabric has widthways stretch, my lining is a slippery stretch tricot. The snap fasteners are the sort attached with metal tools and a hammer.
There was a small section of embroidered fabric remaining after the skirt pieces were cut out, which I have made into a zipped pocket (holds my telephone, etc). This has a loop on the back so it is held by my belt.

Very pleased with this!
