Notes I made this in a very lightweight cotton-linen blend with a very thin woven stripe. I self-lined the yokes and was able to enclose all the seams and/or use french seams, so the inside is completely finished.

I did tweak the pattern quite a bit to get a more fitted look across the bust and underarm. The pattern has the yoke cut straight, but I curved it for a closer fit and removed some fullness form the side seam and moved it to the front bust area (hence the little gathers). As a result, I also had to amend the sleeve head.

I copied the stripe placement in the picture and it gives a very charming effect, although of course you won't actually be able to cut the collar with radiating stripes from fabric with straight stripes as in the picture.

I did depart quite a bit from the pattern, but the resulting shirt is my favourite item of clothing.

That's amazing - your alterations worked so well. Also, finishing the inside is always so satisfying! I don't always have the energy to do it but it's lovely to wear something so beautifully made. Nice work!

It took a lot of work on that, but it turned out to be a very nice jeans blouse.
