| 笔记 | Modified this pattern by shortening/ narrowing the skirt and narrowing the neckline slightly. Fabric is cotton lawn, lined with a soft cotton poplin (this adds a bit more "body" to the dress and means that interfacing was not needed). Used a side zipper and added chain stitch embroidery to highlight the dropped waist seam. I am really pleased with this pattern, the fit is really comfortable and the dress is easy to construct. The bodice section of this pattern makes a lovely top, I initially made the bodice up in a plain fabric to test out the pattern (then used this as the lining when I constructed the dress). I have made several tops now! 3 more versions of the dress:- 1. Black and white cotton lawn, lined with plain white cotton poplin, piped with black satin piping +3mm cord, 30cm side zipper. Neckline and armhole edges bound with bias binding. 2. Same as 1, but made from dark blue cotton lawn. 3. Green floral cotton, lined as above, waist seam has chain stitch embroidery. |
