Notes This pattern was waaaaay too big (yes, it was from my measurements). I had the same issue with my last Lekala blouse pattern. I had to take in 5 inches from the waist and 3 inches from each the bust and hips. I should have taken some in from the shoulders too, but I couldn’t afford to give up any more arm hole space. That’s on me though for trying it on when I was done with it except for the hem. Also, it could use some darts to be honest or more pleats around the neck line. The dress I made had the same problem. I added darts on that one. I think I am getting fussier in my old age. If I am going to take the time to sew something, it might as well end up being something worth the time spent.

Having said that, for a blouse that only exists because I had just enough fabric left over from a dress (I will be posting that one as well), It worked out pretty well. This blouse also gave me the opportunity to practice rolled hemming on slippery and wiggly fabric. I tried the wonder tape...meh. After the aforementioned dress with flounces and plenty of rolled hems, I think I have the technique down pretty well without it. I really want to nail the super itty bitty rolled hem in practice for my next big project which is my daughter’s wedding dress. The wonder tape was great for making a nice even and crisp rolled hem. It wasn’t an itty bitty rolled hem though. I want it super tiny.

I had to change up the sleeves and make cap sleeves because I didn’t have enough fabric for the sleeve as shown in the pattern. I actually had to pick through my trash bag next to the ironing board to find enough scarps for the caps sleeves and bias tape.

I really like the pattern, but I will have to alter it quite a bit next time.
